Branson Trip

This last weekend our entire family took a trip to Branson. My mom, dad, brother, his fiance and the three of us. Mom rented a cabin on Taneycomo about 30 minutes outside of town. We had a nice long relaxing family weekend.

Friday night we went to Silver Dollar City.

Saturday the girls shopped and the boys went fishing. Saturday night we went and saw the show "Noah the Musical". They didn't allow photography so I don't have pics but it was a good show. Any show that will entertain a 2 1/2 year old for 2 hours has to be good. The show had live animals and during the 3rd act the theatre was set up so the audience was sitting on the inside of the Ark. I highly recommend watching it if it comes to a city near you!!

Sunday we rented a pontoon and spent the day on Taneycomo. This is Katie's first experience on a boat. She wasn't real fond of the life jacket but she got used to it. She had more fun when the boat was moving instead of sitting still. She did like throwing her fishing line out and watching the bobbers. Debra, my brother's fiance, Katie and myself went swimming. Katie liked the swimming pool. The shallow end was only a foot deep and she could float around and then put her feet down when she got tired. You can see from the pictures she had a noodle fight with Debra.

All in all it was a great time, a little hot but what can you expect in August?

Straight Hair

I have always wondered what Katie's hair would look like straight. Well tonight I used my flatiron and straightened her hair. Before it was up in pigtails it looked really thin and stringy but once I put it up, Dar and I thought it was really adorable!!

Little Swimmer

Here are some pics from swimming last night at Uncle Kit's and Aunt Jess'. Katie absolutely has a ball swimming. Not only does she enjoy swimming, she can really make a splash too (see the last picture).

WAY TOO LONG

I know it has been forever since I posted anything. Don't really have a good excuse. I know I really enjoy looking at pictures and keeping up with everyone else, so I am going to try to be better.

Dar and I got a new DSLR camera today. I am thinking that might be motivation to post more pictures of Katie, this camera takes the picture faster so I don't miss Katie's smiles.

Katie's New Cousin

As most of you have heard we have had some exciting times around the Gillihan family. Below you will see some pictures of Katie and Papa with Klayton.

We all wondered how Katie would react to having another little one around. She has been doing wonderful. Whenever Klayton makes a noise she says "baby crying?" Really cute.

For those of you who don't know, Katie thinks Uncle Kit is the greatest thing ever. They have so much fun together. So we all were curious how much she would share him. So far it hasn't phased her, we'll see how that progresses.

Katie Loves Dandelions

Today Katie and I were outside enjoying the nice spring day. It is a bit windy but the temperature is really nice. I saw Katie picking dandelions. I had forgotten from last summer how much she loved these "flowers". She would pick them and then keep them for hours in her hands. We had flowers everywhere. Hopefully she will not be as fascinated with them as much this year.

Fun with Family

Last weekend Katie and I got to spend the evening with our cousin Zander. Katie loves to play with him, they have lots of fun together. As you can see, she really liked the trampoline and bouncing on the balls.

Later in the evening Zander tried to teach me to play Guitar Hero. Even though it was fun trying to learn I sucked at it. You can tell Zander has practiced a while.

All in all it was a fun evening.

Easter Eggs

This was the first year that we colored Easter eggs with Katie. I heard this "great" idea to use glitter to decorate the eggs. What a mess but it was fun. Aunt Jess came over to take part in the messy activity. We learned a few things to make it not so messy next year.

Royals Opening Weekend

Last weekend Rodger, Kit, Jess, Dar and myself went to see the Royals and the new stadium. Even though the Royals lost and it was cold it was neat to walk all around the stadium.

Katie, Jess and I had a wonderful opportunity to have our cousin Dawn take some pictures for us out at Powell Gardens. It was a bit cold outside but the sun was beautiful. THANKS DAWN!!!

What's been going on in our World

Well Thursday was my official last day at work. For those that don't know, my company moved our operations to Maryland and I didn't want to move. So for now I am going to enjoy the summer and slowly look for a job. The timing couldn't be be better. It will be so much fun to be home with Jess and Klayton while she is on maternity leave.

Dar has been keeping busy with his construction business. Not much to report on his front.

Katie is growing like a weed. We are contemplating starting to potty train, but honestly I have no idea how to begin. I have been getting pointers from everyone I know. One person said it is more about training the parents than the child. We'll see.

Here is Grandpa Rodger and Katie at our condo in Branson. We had a great weekend of shopping, a really nice room and tons of fun just being together.

Wrangler (Dar's chocolate hunting lab) is really great with Katie. Here he is sitting still so Katie can put her necklaces on him. He's such a good sport :)

Katie loves to have her done and do other peoples hair. Here she is trying her skills out on Daddy.

Been a Long Time

I know, I know, I know... It's been a long time since I have blogged. I never seemed to find the time to sit down and share what has been on going in our lives or share pictures of Katie. Well that is going to change!!! Since I now have extra time (unemployed, not a bad thing :) I want to get into this blogging thing more. I really enjoy being able to see Haddie, Clara Beth, Aaron and Noah.

Check back often... I am going to try to update a couple of times a week.

Pumpkin Picken'

Today Jess and I took Katie on her first pumpkin picken' experience. It was a beautiful day, so we drove to Liberty.

Katie got her own pumpkin to carry around and we got one for later to make a jack-o-lantern.
